The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers was founded in 1961 (one of the founding members being Allgood's Paul Shirville) and has formed a Professional Code of Practice that aims to:

  • Promote standards in integrity and excellence in the business of Architectural Ironmongery.
  • Further and generally develop the interests of, and co-operation between, persons and bodies engaged in the Industry.
  • Provide the means of formulating, making known, influencing and carrying out the policy of the Guild.
  • Act as a national point of reference in the Industry.
  • Encourage, promote and assist persons, firms and companies engaged in the Industry generally.

Allgood has the most Registered Architectural Ironmongers in the industry, and is continually enrolling employees onto the GAI Diploma Course to ensure a full educated and experienced workforce.

Allgood has recently joined GuildMark, a new scheme introduced by the GAI, endorsed by RIBA, to promote consistent high standards of professional excellence. Architects look to work closely with experienced, technically competent AI's, who are fully qualified and have robust systems in place. As a fully accredited company, Allgood commits to having all project work signed off by fully Registered Architectural Ironmongers; working within a comprehensive quality system; holding full Professional Indemnity Insurance and complying to a Code of Professional Conduct.
