ISO 14001

Allgood plc is proud to announce that they have been awarded certification to ISO 14001 following independent assessment of its environmental management system by The British Standards Institution (BSI).

ISO 14001 accreditation requires an organisation to monitor and measure the environmental performance of its activities, products and services in order to continually improve such performance. This includes the introduction of an environmental policy, planning and implementation of environmental objectives, the monitoring of environmental systems and reduction of waste energy. This is accomplished by the introduction of an Environmental Management System with benefits including reductions in the cost of waste management, savings in energy consumption and raw materials.

Embracing the principles of the standard has allowed Allgood management to integrate long held environmental policies into working procedures to ensure we meet our objectives using a systematic approach. The following objectives have been set for 2010:

  • To reduce energy consumption by 5%.
  • To reduce packaging consumption by 5%.
  • To reduce paper consumption by 5%.

Phil Newson, Allgood's Chief Executive commented "We are delighted to have achieved registration to ISO 14001:2004. Gaining formal accreditation to this globally recognised standard serves to further underline our commitment to continually review and reduce the environmental impact of our activities and allows us to easily communicate our environmental objectives and credentials to clients and prospective customers"
