Clapham Common Bandstand Restoration
Clapham Common Bandstand, situated in the heart of the common, is both the largest and oldest surviving bandstand in Greater London. The Grade II listed building has a charming ora surrounding it, and boasts to be one of the largest bandstands in England.
Built in 1890 by LCC architect Thomas Blashill, the bandstand has fallen into disrepair, it was Dannatt and Johnson who faced the task of returning the bandstand to it's original glory.
The restoration work comprised of the replacement and improvement of the current drainage system, strengthening all the supporting pillars, the removal and repair of the roof and the exposure and repair of the drum.
