Atlantis, The Royal, Dubai – Redefining Ultra-Luxury
Located on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, Atlantis, The Royal (ATR) stands as a symbol of ultra-luxury and architectural excellence. Designed by a prestigious international team of architects and interior designers, this 43-storey hotel and resort boasts 795 rooms, including suites and penthouses, 17 restaurants and bars, and a private 2-kilometre beach. Celebrated as one of the Top 50 Hotels in the World, ATR sets a new benchmark for luxury hospitality.
In collaboration with GA Design, we configured an extensive range of ironmongery solutions for ATR, incorporating bespoke elements, access control systems, and washroom products. Our involvement stretched over eight years, requiring meticulous attention to detail to meet the hotel’s stringent standards of luxury and durability. To adhere to both European BS EN and North American BHMA/ANSI standards, Allgood overcame several technical challenges. All hardware needed to comply with UAE fire door regulations, balancing aesthetics with functionality. Concealed hinges, closers, and floor springs were employed throughout, with specific engineering required for doors up to 3 metres tall to support their load.
The Crystal Topped Handle
In the guest rooms, we installed over 400 bespoke flat-cranked pull handles consistent with the resort’s distinctive style. In the hotel’s public spaces, the grand ballroom featured a 1,500mm crystal-topped pull handle for the striking 5.5-metre-high doors. Adorned with finial-cut crystal from Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, the handles were made of brass with a gold finish.

We engineered top and bottom straps for the Skypool doors, exposed to corrosive sea air, from marine-grade 316 stainless steel. Using a waterjet, we precisely cut the straps and enhanced them with stainless steel grub screws. To ensure flawless performance, we incorporated ceramic ball bearings. Through creativity and collaboration, Allgood contributed significantly to establishing Atlantis, The Royal as an exceptional destination. As the only UK architectural ironmonger with in-house British manufacturing, we produced 25% of ATR’s hardware at our Birmingham factory. Minimising our carbon footprint, 75% of our total supply chain operates within 20 miles of our factory.
