The Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) provides independent assessment to raise standards across the construction sector in product information and management.
The Scheme has a robust assessment process including an in-depth review of leadership and culture and management systems underpinning product information management and marketing as well as evidence corroboration on marketing and product information claims.
Additionally, the Scheme requires on-going CCPI Registration of the product information whilst carrying the CCPI Mark to enable ongoing scrutiny and continuous improvement. The aim of the Scheme is to move the industry to a place where product information is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous.
For Allgood, joining the CCPI is an affirmation of how we seek to operate, and a good discipline to keep us alert.
It challenges whether claims are properly evidenced, whether marketing and technical documentation are aligned, and whether information is presented clearly, without any ambiguity. It makes manufacturers accountable for the entire framework behind every statement.”
— Stewart Lauder, Managing Director, Allgood
Established to address issues exposed in relation to the management of construction product information and marketing by the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the CCPI plays a central role in improving accountability across the construction industry. It helps to provide greater confidence that safety-critical product information can be relied upon by specifiers, contractors, and building owners, providing a visible mark that a product set’s information has been independently assessed, supported by evidence to conform with the CCPI.
Major contractors and developers, including Barratt Developments plc, Berkeley Homes plc, Mace Group, Skanska UK, Morgan Sindall Group plc, Murphy Group and Sir Robert McAlpine, have signed the CCPI Demand-Side Supporter Pledge, committing to promote and encourage uptake of the CCPI throughout their strategic supply chains and, where possible, to preference working with suppliers and manufacturers whose product sets are either assessed or undergoing assessment against CCPI standards by December 2026.
We’re delighted that Allgood Hinges have become CCPI Assessed – helping to provide greater confidence to product users that the product information for these products conforms with the CCPI and is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous.
Allgood is proud to be one of many construction product manufacturers committed to higher standards in construction product information, marketing and product claims. The CCPI is playing a pivotal role in driving up standards in product information and marketing and facilitating positive culture change. We’re proud to be working proactively with the CCPI to raise standards in our product information management and marketing.
